Chief of Staff

????????????????????????????????????Rear Admiral Moses Kwadwo Beick-Baffour had his secondary education at Bueman Secondary School, Jasikan-Buem and Bishop Herman College, Kpando all in the Volta Region.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of London and Qualifying and Practicing Certificate in Law from the Ghana School of Law; a Master of Science Degree in Maritime Affairs from the World Maritime University, Sweden; Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from GIMPA. He is a Member of the Ghana Bar Association and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Transport and Logistics (UK).

He trained at the Ghana Military Academy and was commissioned on 29 June 1984. He pursued his Basic Naval Training at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth United Kingdom. He had his senior staff course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College and US Naval Staff College.

He holds a certificate in strategic decision making from the elitist scientific strategic military institute in the Middle East, the Nasser Higher Military Academy, Cairo, Egypt.

Rear Admiral M Beick-Baffour has served in various capacities in the Ghana Navy Fleet including Commanding Officer, GNS ACHIMOTA. He has had vast peace keeping experience as a Military Observer with the United Nations Iraq- Kuwait Observation Mission, United Nations Transitional Administration for  Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Sirmium (Croatia) and United Nations Mission in DR Congo.

Until his appointment as the Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters, he was the Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command. Prior to that he was the Military Secretary of the Ghana Armed Forces at the General Headquarters.

From 2004 to 2006 he was seconded to the Ministry of Harbours and Railways as the Maritime Security Coordinator. Commodore Beick-Baffour is the Ministry of Defence Representative on the Ghana Boundary Commission and a Member of the Legal and Technical Team on the Ghana – Cote d’Ivoire Maritime Boundary Arbitration ongoing at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

He is married to Patience with children. Hobbies include reading and farming.
