cos-_edited-200Maj Gen Sampson Kudjo Adeti was born on 17th August 1959 at Nsawam in the Eastern Region. He attended St Martin’s Secondary School in Nsawam from September 1974 to June 1979 and Mawuli Secondary School in Ho from September 1979 to May 1981.

Brig Gen Adeti was commissioned into the Ghana Army as an Infantry Officer on 17th June 1983. He has since attended and successfully completed all professional courses commensurate with his current rank. These include: Young Officers Course in Teshie; Intelligence Staff Officers Course in Pune, India; Junior Staff Course at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Junior Division; Combat Team Commander’s Course at the Army Combat Training Schools (ACTS); the Senior Command and Staff College Course at GAFCSC (all in Teshie) and the Advanced Diploma Course in Defence and Strategic Studies from the College of Defence Studies (CDS), National Defence University (NDU), Beijing, China.

Brig Gen Adeti holds four (4) Masters Degrees – Master of Military Science in Defence and Strategic Studies (China); Master of Business Administration (Human Resource Management); Master of Arts (Development Studies); and Master of Arts (International Affairs), from the Univ of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science; a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Administration; Diploma in Data Processing; Certificate in Leadership and Management from Tsinghua Univ, Beijing; and a Certificate in Defence Diplomacy from Cranfield Univ.

Brig Gen Adeti has had extensive experience in command and staff appointments at different levels in his professional career.  He served as a Platoon Commander (6 Infantry Battalion); Adjutant/Officer Commanding (4 Infantry Battalion); Brigade Intelligence Officer (HQ 2 Infantry Brigade Group – now HQ Central Command; Instructor/Chief Instructor, Ghana Military Academy; Deputy Director at the Directorate of Army Intelligence and Plans, Army HQ; Directing Staff/Chief Instructor at the Army Combat Training School; Command Operations Officer at HQ Southern Command; General Staff Officer Grade 1 (Operations and Training) at the HQ, Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS); Deputy Commander at the Army Combat Training School (ACTS); and Director Army Operations at the Army Headquarters.

In International Peace Support Operations, Brig Gen Adeti has a rich experience. He served on four (4) different occasions with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) as Platoon Commander and a Senior Staff Officer (Personnel) at the Force HQ; was the Chief Operations Officer with the UN Assistance Mission in Rwanda; served in three (3) missions/theatres – the UN Preventive Deployment Force (UNPREDEP) in former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, UN Mission in Eritrea/Ethiopia (UNMEE) and the UN Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) – as a Military Observer/Team Leader, with additional responsibilities as Military Assistant to the Deputy Force Commander/Chief Military Observer in UNMEE and UNMIL. He was the Commanding Officer of the second Ghanaian battalion of the ECOWAS Mission in La Cote d’Ivoire (ECOMICI GHANBATT 2) in 2003/2004.

Until his appointment as the Chief of Staff (COS) of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) in January 2016, Brig Gen Sampson Adeti was the General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Southern Command of the Ghana Army.

He is happily married with three children. He enjoys playing and or watching football, lawn tennis, golf and gardening.
