DSC_9636The Winners of “Ex Agile Spirit” are to enjoy a trip to the United Kingdom (UK) to visit the 7 Brigade of the British Army in January 2018 as their reward package.

The test exercise was held at Headquarters (HQ) Southern Command on Thursday 23 November, 2017. A total of fifteen (15) participants, comprising eight (8) Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and seven (7) Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (SNCOs) were drawn from the various Units under the Command for the competition.

The competition was aimed at assessing the physical fitness, endurance, marksmanship skill and understanding of minor tactics of personnel under the Command. Additionally, the Exercise was designed at training personnel on employment and deployment of support arms in all face of wars.

DSC_9719DSC_9778According to the coordinating Officer for the programme, Major MD Dey, the event forms part of Southern Command’s activities for the year ending, to herald the year with a Thanksgiving and Appreciation Day to reward Units and individuals who excelled in their duties within the period.

The competitors were taken through 5 kilometers Combat Fitness Test (CFT) with 20 kilograms sand bags,  personal weapon, obstacle crossing, stripping and assembling of personal riffle (M 16) at Kpeshie Gallery Range. A rundown firing with 20 rounds was also conducted from which the best and deserving soldiers were selected.

DSC_9779191018 WO1 Obimpeh Worlanyo from the 66 Artillery Regiment and 203359 L/CPL Kumi Emmanuel from 5 Infantry Battalion were declared winners for the SNCOs and that of the NCOs respectively.
